    Issues with 2000 slx

So last year I was having issues with my LR module. When my bilge pump was grounded it would run constantly. It wasnt a big deal until the end of the season when the ski would start to run like crap after riding hard for a bit.

Replaced the lr module yesterday and the bilge pump now works as it should. The charging system is charging properly. Put the ski in the water and ran it for a few minutes pretty hard. Water temp was about 35 degrees. After about five minutes it started acting up again. Its almost like its bogging or losing power, but its not like any bog ive ever felt before.

I put it back on the trailer, but still in the water under a load, and shut it off for a minute. Turned it back on and it was as good as new again.

At the beggining of last year I went through the carbs and replaced all fuel lines. I ran about 15-20 hours with no issues last year until the very end.

So im going to go through the carbs again, but I dont think thats the issue. What else could I be looking at here. Also tested compression yesterday and 130 in each hole.

How is the CDI wired for power? Where does the Red/Purple wire for the CDI connect to?

It will either connect with all the other Red/Purple wires OR it will connect to the Orange wire group.

Does the MFD display work properly? No warnings, correct RPM and voltage displays?

The MFD is correct and works well. I think the CDI is connected with all the other purple wires. Id have to double check but im almost posotive thats how its wired.

I dont beleive so. But i don't usually pay super close attention to it. Are you talking more when its just running, or when its acting up?

Both, but especially when it is giving trouble.

Need to determine if the problem cause is electrical, mechanical, or fuel related.

MFD warnings or display weirdness may suggest an electrical issue.

I don't think it's mechanical. I really don't think it's fuel but I'm going to tear into the carbs and eliminate it just to be sure. I just don't know enough about these electric systems to know where to start honestly

they just need to allow air in and not out right? Any special way to test them?

There was a service bulletin to move the Red/Purple from....i cant remember if it was CDI or Stator, pretty sure its the CDI, but in any case search and you will find it( being at work I cant) but with the engine hot, it would have issues, so the bulletin was created to fix the issues.
