What is the best mode under $500 for my 2004 Gtx/Sc

My 2004 gtx/sc has 100 hrs on it and I am having the washers and bearings changed this week. While in the shop I have about $500 cash to do a mod would like some info what would be my best bang for my buck.

start with a cold air intake to let that engine breath even beter.
then maybe a different prop for a stage 1 those will be the base to start with.

Change out the Fuel Regulator to the 50 lb RXP model ($110). Best acceleration of all...

yo people, remember he has 100 hours on the ski. I personally wouldn`t push the snot out of it regarless of how well it was maintained or how strong the engine is.
If you really want more bang for the buck, first do a leakdown test and compression test to check the health of the engine...
then start small with know good mods for the GTX...

he can simpl install, air filter kit (out of the box), give it better exhaust, power pipe (keeping it simple) and maybe a wedge to gain a few MPH, plus either tweek the stock prop or go aftermarket, by then I think the $$$ will already be used up. I def wouldn`t give it more boost just yet. I didn`t hear him mention if he had an aftermarket intercooler or not...JMHO...PR...

a 100 hrs isnt a lot on these skis when they can go a 1,000 + hrs just keep the s/c in good shape & rest of the engine will follow

    I think that 1000 hour ski was a NA 4Tec wasn`t it...

I`m just throwing out there be wise when investing any $$$, a leak down and compression test is a good start IMHO...PR...

yea agree but the only difference between a 155 & 185 is the s/c & cam rest of the motor is the same so as long as u keep the weak link (the s/c) in good shape (metal washers good bearings) the engine with mild mods will b good 2 go leak down test wont hurt it'll let u know if ur rings r seated or if u have a valve leaking down but still a 100 hrs on these 4-tec motors isnt a lot, its usally water or a s/c failer that usually shorten the lives of these engines, agree
