    2012 RXPX 260RS: vibrating/shaking engine

    Hi Guys,

I have notice recently ( back in December ) that my ski was and shaking more that usual.
Ski run fine on the water 76+ @ 8600+ until I have seen small piece of white plastic on the back of my ski ( wear ring ).

Ski has normal bolt on parts (S/C, air intake, I/C, springs, V-tech ect....)

    Ski running at idle

Ski with a bit of small rev

I have checked the impeller and jet pump bearing thinking the were the one making that weird shake issue.
All fine and spinning by hand without issue.
I even started the ski without the pump and engine still vibrate.

But while removing the rocker, I have noticed not "lifter push" are not getting back in even without oil pressure.

    Is that normal?

    Regards,

Have you checked the engine mounts and engine alignment?

Yes I have checked the mount even removed all the hoses on the back of the ski to be able to insert my head.... they look fine.
    Ski has 80 hours.

But I do not have tools to check alignment.

I have started the engine without the pump and shaft still connected (supported and allmost straight), and it sill vibrate.

Do you try to change sparkplugs?

If the lifters where not allowing the valves to close all the way, this could cause the problem, but I would also think you would get a bent valve.

You may not be able to tell they are bad by looking at them. Get a pry bar and try to lift the motor near one of the mounts.

So you think it is normal that I can't push by finger and some I can?

I will lift with a engine lifter and see how it goes.

My thoughts are also engine mounts - there's a huge amount of counter movement caused by the engine (Newtons 3rd law and all that). I'd use the chance to replace the mounts with much better Rhaas ones - then you can eliminate that and forget about replacing the OEM ones any time soon. 80 hours of RXP riding, in salt by the look of it, is tough of those OEM mounts.
