Question Compression test question. ?Special adapter

Going to look at a Yamaha VXR '11 model this weekend. Want to do compression test--the owner told me it takes a special adapter for the compression gauge -- a type "B" adapter? Quizzed my ski-owning friends and nobody has any idea.
    Anybody got suggestions/ideas?
    Thanks

(BTW--completely new to owning a PWC)

    compression tester

The owner may have a point.I looked at a 4-stroke ski a couple of years ago and if I remember right my tester wouldn't fit( it's a cheap model) I was going to have to buy an adapter that was around $50.I paid a dealer $100 for a PPI.Good I did.Ski had bad compression numbers.Guy reducxed price $2000 later.

fyi....make sure you leave the non-testing cylinder's spark plugs IN when you test...and
make sure your starter is spinin the motor at least 440 rpms....good luck

Is there a reason for this? All of the info/instructional stuff I've seen shows them taking out ALL plugs before starting the test. ?

The engine will spin over faster due to the compression releasing on opposing cylinders. The gauge readings will be higher and get there quicker.
