Intermediate what happend
So yesterday I was running and testing my ski after putting everything back together.
Riva had changed out my intermediate assembly couple of months back and I had about 3 running hours on it.
So yesterday everything worked great and I was easing up on a full throttle pass.
6000 rpm 6500 rpm etc etc 8500 rpm all was looking great.
As soon as I pulled the trigger from 8500 to full throttle I heard a pop.
The engine lost load, over revved a little even tho I let go of the throttle immediately.
After I got to slow down and didn't hear anything weird in the engine I noticed the ski didn't want to move.
Like the shaft broke or I lost the pump altogether.
After a couple of seconds horrible smell of burning rubber coming out of the aft seat that wasn't with me.
Just pulled everything apart and everything looks good just allot of debris under the intermediate and I can turn the prop by hand without turning the engine.
Anyone know what it is? Did I break the internal shaft?
Anyone went trough this before?

Looks like the coupler failed to me.Get a phone and snap a picture of that area to see what is going on ? I am starting to think that ski needs a spiritual cleaning brother

When i pulled the motec log I had 86% throttle 8800 rpm 17 psi boost 87.7mph
I'm stoked about that, it looks very promising.
the engine reved up to 9500 before the intermediate broke.

Leon check if the entire coupler moves when you turn the impeller by hand or if the whole thing moves when you turn the engine on at idle. That should tell you what joint you screwed up
Speed is not bad with the changes but didnt you run 89 8900rpms some time back ?

When i crank the engine everything turns.
when i turn the prop shaft i cant look inside but i cant feel the compression of the engine.
yes i ran 89mph w 8900 rom but that was with:
a different prop
too thin head gasket that made the pistons touch the head.
and another couple of things
I now have a fizzle also instead of gen 2

when u put it back together did u align the motor properly?

If the engine was mis aligned you most likely stripped the shaft splines, intermediate splines or both, pull the pump and inspect the shaft splines, the GPR use to strip these but haven't heard of any cases on the FZ skis since they went to the thicker shaft.
