    smell of fuel in oil

    I bought a new ultra 310r,i now have 4.5 hrs & done the break in as manual proceedure. Today i smelled a slight smell of fuel in oil. (oil level still the same). Is this common?

    My brother in laws ultra has the fuel in oil problem.

    Most of the Gas in oil problems have been in 250s. Odd to see a 310 with this issue.

    The 310 is too new to be proven. It very well could have the FIO problem that the Ultra is known for.

    The ultra is not known for this. The 250s were. It is the first 310 I know of with GIO. Why are you trying to get into this again? The guy asked for help. Maybe someone who has experienced this problem will help him out some. I just pointed out that it's odd to see this in a newer ultra. It's pretty much a 300 with reliability upgrades, which IS proven.

    My comment was a facetious rebuttal towards DH300's "The SVHO isnt a proven platform." comment several days/a week ago. You're late to the party. Move along.

    The 310 is just the latest version of the ski that Kawasaki has been refining and improving since the Ultra 250. Just about all of the reliability issues have been fixed.

    You used that same argument in favor of the SVHO in another thread, saying its wasn't too new to prove reliability, it was just an improvement on a previous platform. The 310 is the same. I would argue that the SVHO is more changed than the Ultra is.
