    few questions ultra 310r

I bought a new 310r did the break in as per manual, got 4.5 hrs on it now. Yesterday I smelled a slight smell of fuel in oil, is that normal? (Oil level stil the same as before)
Steering colomn has a bit of movement back and forward? maybe 5mm at top of handlebar has anyone had this before?
When does the break in period ends on a boat like this?

Today I spoke with the kawa dealer and said is nearly impossible to have fuel in oil with the new 310... I had a mechanic looking at the oil and said the oil is too clear to be contaminated..conclusion is, oil must smell a bit like that.

Very common issue with Kawasaki, not just their PWC's but street bikes, dirt bikes, ATV's etc. It's due to raw fuel being pushed past the rings because of a fat tune. Why do you think the Ultra burns so much fuel at higher loads? At almost 17lbs of boost, what can one expect to happen in a cylinder with poor clearances? More-so in the Ultras than other vehicles, over-cooling the cylinders will cause GIO. I've owned several Kawasaki Brute Force ATV's and a Prairie and my brother in law owns an Ultra. They've all had this issue. It's a huge inconvenience because you have to change the oil far too frequently for my liking. One of the reasons I nix'd Kawasaki engines and I honestly do not see it changing with the 310's unless Kawasaki tightens up the ring tolerance and leans them out a little.
