    GP1300R bogs at midrange

At about mid range throttle when I pull the trigger it hesitates, kinda bogs for just a second then hits very hard. When the rpms are up it doesnt do it at all. It hasnt run since last October and had fogging oil in the cylinders. Got new plugs and new gas 93 octane. Ran it for about 20 min. today - all the time I had. Maybe it just needs to have the snot ran out of it. Dont know. Any clues anyone?

    Yes I will be there.

Im far from an expert, but it sounds like your powervalve linkage may be gunked up.you say it happens at mid throttle trying to go to WOT,but its fine from higher rpm's to WOT where the powervales are open already.

No controller on it. The thing runs like a bat out of hell, but it just around 40-50 punch, there is a slight 1/2 second hesitation, then it hauls a$$.
I do not know if this will make a difference, but it has a single bar 1200 grate.
I did not notice the hesitation coming out of the hole.
We had a strong current today, and my 200 lb butt went 68.1 sitting on the grab handle, with a full tank of gas. The ski has tons of potential.

Thanks, I open to all suggestions and will test and rule out all to get it right. I thought I might need to run some chem tool fuel injector cleaner through it and I guess spray a little litheum grease on the power valve linkage. thanks again.

I would think you might want to use an EFI controller with that setup. That could be your problem.

I have both the 03 1300 w/pv and the 06 1300 w/o them. There is a definite difference in the feel of each as you hit it from a 40mph roll.the 06 has a smooth gradual speed increase like you shifted to a higher gear in a sports car.the 03 feels as if youve down shifted when the valves open. so it digs down and grabs torque and learches you forward then it gradually smoothens out.it just seems to me that the reaction time of your valves opening is being slowed by dirt and gunk buildup.I have 165 hours on my 03 and ive never fully cleaned the powervalves by disassembling them.but i do spray them regularly with wd-40 and a toothbrush.i also lightly grease the powervalve wheel to the right.
