    Don't know how anyone wants to live in the Desert. Sand/Dust storms SUCK

    I'm stuck here in the Middle East for another week and today woke up to the pleasure of a huge dust storm that 8hrs later is now starting to clear. Even when you go inside you can see the dust floating in the air. Hope the cars/trucks here run pre filters lol

    Yep we get those here. They are called haboobs. They usually hit in the Summer months right around dinner time when I am grilling and last well after dark. Here's a few pictures from the last one we had last year.

    Thats called the empty quarter, the largest desert in the world. The best vehicle to climb the dunes was our suzuki samurais in mid 80's. It was a blast to slide down the face of a 100' dune. And the storms were called smalls, well the english way of saying it I guess. Had them wear the paint off the front of my car a couple of times.
