Thinking about picking up a second ski opinions

I am thinking about picking up a second ski in addition to my yamaha fx sho. I want something a little more nimble and capable of jumping waves. I am considering a waveblaster 1 and 2, and a seadoo xp. My problem is that in the area I ride, the bay can be somewhat ruff at times and I am afraid the waveblaster 1 will be more work then fun. Anyone have an opinion on which would be best. Thanks

Prepare to pay a premium for a Blaster. I'd look at a GP800R. Tons of parts sourcing and support.

B1s are nearly built for wave just mping from the factory. Layer in a few sheets of 1708 biaxial glass and you can't break the hull without killing yourself.

I loved the holeshot and jumping my former 1999 GP1200. WAY better holeshot and playful ride compared to a GPR but WAY more stable than a waveblaster. I know you didn't mention this ski but IMHO would fit the bill nicely.

I second the 98-99 GP recommendation. They are wavejumping fools. If modded a bit they will jump out of the water several feet just with the throttle. Engine has great low end torque plus they are a good bit lighter than the GPR's. A bit thirsty though.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have some decisions to make and will definitely consider the gpr.

Was in same position a few months ago and picked up a 1300R.A few handling mods later and it is pretty darn good even in the chop.

don't get confuse, a GP and GPR are two different beast, for jumping , GP ,THEY JUMP ON FLAT WATER.

Gp760 or 800. Large enough to be stable for 1. Cheap, durable as hell(motors and hull) and great jumpers.
    Easy to work on, etc.
    All the 1200s are thirsty.
1300efi is still thirsty, has crank issues and can be more complicated.

Gpr has has powervalves and a different hull. Still great skis. Typically more money and ridden hard. The original muscle ski

    xl/xlt is a 800/1200PV 3 seater.
Very stable, jump pretty well ( see my profile pic), heavier, more cavitation, have reverse and lots of storage.
I love mine but my buddies gp1200 is smaller/lighter and easier to work on.

B1 demands a premium $, is a motorcycle, not stable at all and requires lots of swimming and crawling up.
Great jumper, most fun sitdown around. Great low end, cheap engine. Not for chop, heavy/older riders IMO.

I have a wb2. Great holeshot. Light, stable enough, cheap but the hull is paper thin and the bottom is flat. It smacks hard off waves.
Its a superb marsh/track ski but the hull isn't friendly to chop or anything but tail landings. Literally turns on a dime and rips right up to 50.

GP 800 gets my vote. Most versatile. Best bang for buck.
