Knock Detection on the newest VTech Logging

The newest Vtech logging SW for an Android can be found at...

    http://vtechtuned.com/?m=390

Here is a MegaLogViewer HD plot of locating detonation. really cool.

    http://www.nbs-stl.com/RxpxTuning/Se...Knock%2003.png

On the right plot, deep blue indicates no detonation detected at this RPM and MAP. On the left is the reported timing at the same RPM and MAP

    Way cool.

Here is the histogram of the same data

    http://www.nbs-stl.com/RxpxTuning/Se...Knock%2002.png

0s indicate no detonation, Small numbers indicates some detonation, Numbers like 254 indicate huge detonation.

I will be testing on my ski soon as the weather is clearing up.

    Have fun tuning

    Andy

Thanks for the info. That Mega Log View software is so nice. Especially after you showed me a summary of it.

stock noise/knock levels for 8000 are not correct at 9000
also knock is a big spike in noise not a steady level

the logger shows when it happens and how long ecu reacts to it - retarding ignition.

is does react ...but is it really knock or just noise
you can bet at 7000 it is most likely knock but not at 9000
also a stock motor is usually much quieter than a motor with heavy valve springs
