    Installed "Gator Guards KeelShield" on my FZ

    Since I beach my ski quite frequently, I decided to install the Gator Guards "KeelShield". It was a very straight forward prep/install and the product is definitely high quality. I only ran it back 36" from the first step in the front of the hull in order to keep the transition from disrupting water flow into the grate. At higher speeds, it shouldn't be in the water. Will post a water report once I get back on the lake.

    You could probably call them and buy a large roll for a discount. I bought the smaller pieces which cost more.

    I had some keelguards on my Seadoo 97 GTX and 98 GSX when I had those models. Highly recommend them. No loss of speed at all and
    protected the keel great..

    Unfortunately as Seadoo changed their hull design in my current models (2002 and 2004), the keelguard model would not work and they decided to
    not update their product. The front has to be above the water otherwise the guard comes off. I could have trimmed it myself but as the edges
    are tapered etc it would have looked too crappy. I'll be looking into this brand for sure.

    Without contacting as of yet, they do not list Seadoo PWC's at all - just the Seadoo boats - which jives with the other brand I used. I'll send an email
    but it appears the hull of the newer PWC's prevent them from being applied at least the Seadoo brand. Too bad. I'd spend the money in a heartbeat.

    More info as to what PWC's can be used for this:

    No, KeelShield will not work on the Yamaha VX 110 and the Sea Doo 4-Tec Hull design. KeelShield is 5″ wide and the jet ski hull needs to be smooth with no ridges for the product to work. Please contact us if you have questions regarding your jet ski.
