    Seadoo new carbon ring top hat

    Looks like SEADOO are finally on top of their gremlins .

    Just got a new carbon seal set up and the top hat is now bigger , obviously to stop run over and grooving out the carbon ring .

    As someone has wrote in a previous post it's a PITA to remove and install a charger with a spacer on it with the new hat on the driveshaft on the newer px models at least.

    What he said, it is now a real PITA to reinstall the SC with the new floating ring.

    Yea, that was me. I now need to loosen one of the motor mounts and pry motor up a tiny bit to R&R the SC. Doesn't help that I am using the 4mm SC spacer...

    I had this same problem. took 5 mins in my lathe and its now the same as the old ones.

    hmm when did all this happen, cause i just bought a new carbon ring and hat a couple weeks ago and it was not bad pulling and replacing the blower.

    Did you buy parts seperately or did it come as a "kit"? If it was not a 2-piece kit, the dealer sold you old inventory (not that its a bad thing).

    If it is the new kit, its possible your motor mounts are bolted in forward position. I slid my motor all the way back (along with a SFR bellow) to help eliminate cavitation. I'd ask you if you cavitate..then I remember you have a big ass prop

    BTW: Suck I am doing this again since I just broke motor mount(s) this weekend.
