    F12x problem

A buddy of mine just got a 2002f12x turbo with 80 hours on it. The ski runs perfect on the hose revving to almost 7k. We dropped the ski yesterday and the ski will not go over 5600 rpm and tops out at 48-50. Outside the water on the hose we can hear the turbo spool up. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you

you aren't suppose to rev them that high on the hose. check the actuation of the wastegate.

Nitro's waste gate solenoid super quick check procedure- in the FAQ section.

Couple of ways to diagnose these skies. They require tools though. You can create them but more than likey I may know what it is. Give me a pm and I will send you my number so I can guide you.

Possibly the Turbo Control Solenoid, it has been covered multiple times. It will cause drop in RPMs about 1000, and about the speeds you are describing. Also properly check your oil level per the manual. Warm up running on hose for 5 minutes, shut down, ensure engine is level, remove the dip stick from the front, and check level at the drain tube in the back. Too much oil might drop your RPMs.

I would say turbo wastegate solenoid.
    Have changed hundreds of them.
Rpm is normally limited to around 5500 when faulty.
Simple check is to remove the rubber hose from the actuator and then see if ski will set of the overbooked alarm on the wayer

,check your oil. If you find water in it you need a new exhaust manifold .....
