    Change sc belt?

Hi there, my 300x (2011) will soon be over 100h, thinking of the sc beltchange. Here in Sweden its about 600$ if I ask a shop to do it.

Would you change it now or wait until it snaps or diy?

    Thx!

If you usally do your own mechanic and you know what your doing, it's not that big of a job, but if you usually dont touch anything and your not mechanically inclined, it would be better to give the job to someone who know what they're doing,

If you DIY, first get a shop manual.

100 hrs is not that much for a 300 belt, unless it slipped or crack, it should be good for more hrs. On the 250/260 we used to change it at 100hrs and they were ether slipping like hell or to tight wich was reducing their life, but now it's another story with the auto thightner, you should be good for another 50hrs easy
inspect for crack or damage, if the belt look good, you should be ok

One thing that should be done right now, is to remove you thightner and put antiseeze on the pivot and the idler bearing shaft before it seeze and scrap your belt

that's the main reason of early belt damage

In my experience........It will take several hours unless you are a mechanic by trade. Helps to have a helper as well, since you will be moving the engine forward with a bar and reaching your hand in there.

first time, it took me 1 1/2 hour , it doesn't have to slide to far, as long as you can slide the belt off the crank pulley
