    250x power issues.

i have just bought a 2008 250x with 76 hours. i took it out for the first time yesterday, and had a few problems.

it revs up fine out of the water but when i had it in the water it was not happy.

if i give it full throttle it will rev up and boost up fine but a few seconds in, it will bog down to around 5000rpm and will then gradually increase but will fluctuate quite a lot. if i feather the throttle i can get maybe 40mph out of it but it wont hold the revs consitently. it doesnt seem like anything mechanical but more of a fueling problem. this is the first time the ski has been ridden this year. where would you start first with trying to fix it? it had new plugs between the last time it was ridden and when i rode it.

this is my first kawasaki so i am not familiar with it just yet.

Have you checked the tension on the supercharger belt? Maybe a bad or cracked plug?( I know you said new plugs) Whats the oil look like?

Maybe you have to Clean up the intercooler or have bad fuel.

the super charger belt is tight, maybe even a little to tight but would this cause it to bog? from what i have read up on it, it sounds like maybe a gunk'd up intercooler. there was quite a bit of fuel in it when i filled it up so i guess that has been in there from when it was last ridden.

You have to have a Tension Tool to set the correct tightness....

More info is needed to help you... starting with some simple checks. how old is the fuel? Is the fuel 90+ octane? have you looked at the spark plugs yourself and who replaced them? When was the oil changed and does it have G.I.O.?

Also check your intake trumpet, they come loose and suck the side starving engine of oxygen

check your hose clamp from de SC to IC and from IC to throttle body,be sure they are tight and be sure the hose is all the way over the fitting, pass your hand all around the fitting sometime they look fine but the back of it is not sitting right, you have to be sure there is no leak.
Also check you BOV if it still there, they are prone to leak

Sounds like a typical dirty fuel filter symptom. Pretty easy to check remove hose from rail and measure how much fuel on 3sec prime
