65u Cylinder Block casting mark and engraving
I'm about to rebuild a 65u that I bought. The cylinder block has a casting mark that says 63m. Is that normal for a 65u? The cylinders are 84mm on their original bore.
Also, there is an engraving on the cylinder that appears to read W-282 Any ideas on that?
There isn't any porting going on... Did this deal get a resleeve? I didn't notice it in person, but it looks like it has a repaint too.
Thanks for your help,

I looked again and it says 11-282 and it looks to be OEM paint. That's casting slag in the photo.

What you have there is pretty much the normal for the 65u 1200 cylinders.
- There are "allegedly" 1200 cylinders with the number 65u cast into them.? (I've never actually seen a set. and I've had a few.!!)
Here's a few of my 1200 sets with the 63m casting.
:as yet untouched Broken set
:GroupK set before paint
:Tim Judge Ported set
As you can see they all have the same 63m cast blocks..
-From stock to extreme porting they are all the same.
I have a few other sets knocking around, still the same with the 63m cast
Hope that clears your question up.!
