    FZR Dry Storage Redirected

How many FZ owners actually used their dry storage under the rear seat for "dry storage"? Sure was an inconvenient place for me to access. Isn't that what Pelican Cases and ZipLoc bags are for? I found a better use for my anchor and tie down ropes for me. Besides, I may gain 1/2 mph moving that 15lb anchor from the bow to the stern! Looks like the rear seat will still seal it off from the elements.

I use it for everything I want to Ketp water tight, like my phone, wallet, keys, paperwork and tuning tools. It's the only water tight part of the ski.

Did you cut off your lid? Will the bottom of the seat still seal out the water?

Yes the bottom of the seat still seals on the lip. So it's still very water resistant.

Hmmm. That's an idea. What kind of tank did you use? I am concerned the new svho will drink the fuel. Hard to go on a long ride and be tethered to the marina

I haven't used that dry storage bin on my FZR is probably 3 years. I like to be able to quickly pull the rear seat off and make sure everything in the hull looks OK when riding, especially on the ocean. I keep anything I need to keep dry in a plastic dry-bag in the front of the ski which is easier to access. I put velcro on my dry-bag in the front storage area so it doesn't bounce around.

The water tight compartment always has 4 inches of water after every ride. How do you keep the water out?
