    Impeller and wear ring advice

This is my impeller and wear ring out of my 1996 sl 700, it was loosing thrust last summer like if i pulled my buddies sea doo it felt as if i was slipping a clutch. Clearly the prop is toast, but the wear ring doesnt seem wore down however it is scratched a bit.....does it need replaced?...the metal has no low spot in it. Thanks guys

We also chipped this trying a rubber hammer .... will this be an issue?

Hard to tell from the photos whether the wear ring has become 'worn'.

If it was me I would hunt around for someone parting out a machine with stainless steel six vane stator and the wear ring. Stock wear ring is black painted aluminum with a stainless steel liner.

You can have the impeller refurbished back to stock spec or you can hunt for an unworn impeller from a similar engine power.

Rebuild the stator with fresh bearings and seals, of course.

I figure that if the wear ring was wore i would feel a height difference in material? is that correct?.....The material is all the same height (thickness) just has scratches from stuff getting in there i guess.

The prop i was thinking just getting a solar one off ebay it claims to make better use of the power is this a good choice or just stick with the stock one?

I looked on ebay didnt see any stainless 6 vane stators, im not to sure else where to look i know no one with a polaris sea doo let alone parts lol.

Is watcon the best for getting bearings and seals to do the stator?.....should i replace the stator with a factory one? theres a brand new one on ebay right now

Have you looked in the Polaris Classifeds section on Greenhulk?

The later models which had 1200 engines often also had the SS 6 vane stator jet pump as stock. Virage TX, MSX. Genesis?

All the Polaris modular stators are interchangeable, 148mm pump diameter.

There were two versions of the six vane SS stator, for your purposes both are equivalent.

The only oddball ones are 146mm from 1992-1993. And the 140mm Octane?

Ocean Pro has two versions of their ride plates for Polaris. The R (Race) and O (Ocean). Ocean Pro 'O' version is longer and takes more porpoising out of the ride (smoother on rough water).

I do not recall if Ocean Pro made two versions for your particular hull

That second 'Ocean' implies it is the longer 'O' version.
