    Engine compartment fills up with water

    I have a Polaris Virage 1200 jet ski took it for a ride came back
    Et it sit . I went to ride it noticed something wasn't right .got back to camp after pumping all the water out . again more water in the compartment .can anybody help me out ? Why ?what do I need to fix?

    Well, where is the water coming in?

    Under the driveshaft perhaps?

    K447, Curious if the water Injector corroded and broke, like the one you sold to me?

    I sold a broken water injector?

    The OP just needs to do some investigating as to where the water is actually coming from. Typical possibilities are the seals at the driveshaft through-hull bearing assembly, an engine cooling water hose, a broken or disconnected speedometer pitot clear tube (directly underneath the driveshaft). Sometimes the hull drain plug o-ring will be missing or damaged.

    K447 was leading you to the most common cause of water in the hull,
    the driveshaft bearing(thru hull bearing). Corrosion and breakage is to be expected
    these are WATERcrafts, So the possibility does exist that other causes will and can
    allow water to enter the hull, So first check that bearing, if that's not the problem then
    you need to do a complete inspection(hoses,fittings,etc.) to locate the problem/source.

    Elk, 1200 does not have water injection. Just the 800 DI.

    As stated, the pitot tube under the driveshaft is most common, as is a lose or split water line.
    I wouldn't think the driveshaft seal/bearing would allow that much water that fast that you have to pump it out, and it comes back that quickly. I can see a small trickle, but not much more.
    From the quantity that you describe, I'd think it should be pretty easy to find the culprit.

    All depends on how badly the seals have failed.

    This was an MSX which has a different through-hull design, but I have also seen non-MSX seals fail rather completely.

    K-447 I misquoted, the injector you sold me was fine. I just remember all the water I was taking in, when the other one was broke. I should've paid better attention when I was in English class.
