2002 Polaris Virage 800i flush kit

    hello all

does the flush kit instal onto the cooling rail right side where plug is located? i have a flush kit and went to install it thinking this is the location and the fuel injectors will not allow for the barbed fitting to be installed at this location.

also, how does a flush kit cool the EMM of is the cooling all connected?

    thanks

I think you may have to remove the cooling rail and then install the flush kit. EMM will still get water flow through it.

i see that there are 2 styles of flush kitys out there for the 2002 polaris, one for carbd' and one for injected engines. one is a brass nipple barbed fitting (carbd) and the other is a 90 degree barbed fitting (Injected), was i to purchase the 90 degree fitting, remove the cooling rail, install the 90 degree fitting so the turn is away from the injector and cylinder head and re install injector?

@ Unity...i looked at that and the barbed fitting is over the fuel injector mounting stud to head...i am thinking the 90 degree barbed fitting is one that i should have bought....can you confirm that this is the location for the flush kit?

    thanks

Yes you should have a 90 degree fitting, not a straight.

It has been a while since I last looked at a two cylinder Virage i Ficht engine.

If memory serves, the EMM cooling water pressure comes directly from the jet pump feed, via a tee. When the engine cooling flow is reversed using the reverse flush connection to the water bar manifold, there would be little pressure at the tee that feeds the flywheel cover water jacket and then the EMM. If this is the case, then the EMM will not receive much if any cooling flow. Limit engine run times to seconds, not minutes.

I get water through mine. Not much pressure, but it still flows.

Completely stock routing for the water cooling hoses?

Still have the water injection solenoid?

Yes and yes for the 800's. I have the return line off at the exhaust currently. (from the EMM)

My TXi has a pisser up front, and that gets even better flow.
