    Buying a 1998 GP800r!!!

I found a very low hour 1998 gp800r for sale that I just put a down payment on! The guy isn't sure of the exact hours, but he said he bought it new and has hardly used it.

What differences will there be from the 2003 XLT 800 I sold last year?

If it's a 1998, then it's not an "R". Completely different hull and motor than the 03' XLT. It's smaller and non-power valve. Google it.

LOL, that's Awesome...I was less than impressed with the XLT, I'm sure some of it was due to it being a 3 seater...it was too much hull, I would rather go buy another xr1800 or exciter 270.

I will most likely pull the motor on it when i get it home. My wife will not be happy, but its probably ready for new seals and a crank check...While its out I'm thinking group K modifications...anyone have experience between the sleeper and swift kits?

that was the first year they came out with the 800 if i'm not mistaken, and yes the 1200 does not have valves until 2000 millennium edition.
