Yea, you will see it expand when you rev it. Don't worry though you won't break it. I have seen them hold 30 PSI of boost

How do you like the performance with the sc3 & stock IC?
Jerry, is this setup as good or better than the RR IC w/riva vortech wheel?

    Pro's?
    Cons?

    Thumbs up

For me this setup is ideal. The stock intercooler is bullet proof and cannot come loose. The xpower and plumbing takes too much of a hit when ridden like a man. The S3 and 3 blade have got to be the best mods I`ve done for wave jumping. This thing would climb a tidal wave vertical.

Its light years better! Its as close as you can get to a Rude Charger without dropping the big $$$

Pro's = more boost than the others
Con's = costs you more money

You have to run the 42# injectors with it.

This is what i'm thinking of doing myself. Go back to stock IC & go to S3 SC wheel. I have the 15/19R now & as you know i'm getting 8120'ish rpms with the RR IC. I wonder if the S3 wheel will make up the boost/rpm difference that the RR IC made.

No, having an external intercooler is a huge power adder. It will make up for some of it, but not all of it. Also keep in mind that the more boost you make the more heat you make so its very important to keep an efficient intercooler in the mix.

Great! This place is a damn crack house!

Any mods to the stock SC housing needed when using the RR S3 wheel?

Ok Im liking this post. Now if someone where to go with the sc3 and stock IC all that is needed is 42 injectors and a prop. Jerry you mentioned heat with this setup. Im wondering if adding a 158 thermostat would take care of most of the heat issue?
