Thread: Battery discharge

On my old GP, if I let the it sit without using it for any longer than 2 weeks I could expect a dead battery.
How is the Honda with non usage and battery discharge?

Honda recommends if you are not going to ride for two weeks, to pull battery and charge(or at least disconnect negative terminal). I had he same problem with my vx110, my battery would be dead in 12 days or so...
1st post also, hello

WELCOME to the Green Hulk Forums baba.
I use a waterproof connector and have my batteries cycling so they are always charged and ready to go.

I've also seen guys run the charger set ups where the pig tails attach to the battery, then you lift the seat and plug in the charger.
I'm really just to lazy to raise my seat. LOL

The start/stopswitch sometimes leaks voltage, thats what the shop manual said for dead battery.

I've already started my third year on the factory battery. 89 hrs maybe? I do use a battery tender during winter time but its not unusual to let it sit 2 or 3 weeks at a time without a tender during riding season. It always fires immediately as if it had a full charge..
Personally I've got too many things with batteries (10!) to worry about keeping em on a charger..
