    Parting out a 2002 TXi (DI 1200)

    I went a looked at an 02 TXi today that will be delivered later this week. It hit a rock or something and took on water, then the PTO cylinder inhaled it and grenaded the jug. I'm only paying $275 for the whole thing, and only want the seat. I am going to need this thing gone ASAP as I already have 5 skis at my place and no room for this, so I will be selling off all the parts cheaper than you can imagine.

    Everything is there, and the engine bay is actually cleaner than any other Virage I have seen (Aside from my own!). Ski had 54 hours IIRC when it hit rocks.

    I'm only planning on removing the major parts and sending the rest off to the dump unless someone wants something in particular. I'm assuming the crank is bad so I will not be pulling the engine itself, but will pull the 2 good jugs, flywheel and stator from it. I typically use USPS flat rate boxes, so you know ahead of time what to expect shipping to be. Aside from that, make me some offers on everything but the seat! Go ahead and lowball me.

    Have you pulled the fuel pump yet? I'm sure it would fit in my 2002 virage. I've just pulled the 2 yr old pump out, looking for options.

    Do you know how long ago it last ran?

    I may be interested in the EMM and injectors.

    Other stuff I would have to think about.

    So you wouldnt want to sell the cases if they are good? If the price is cheap enough you could just send me the whole bottom end.

    Well it's been sitting at least a couple years. Not sure exactly. The reg expires this year, and I think VA does a 3 year reg. (Might be 2, I don't recall)

    If someone wants the EMM and injectors, I will give a 1 week money back guarantee. I have no way to test them without ripping apart my Virage, and my MSX isn't going to happen due to mechanical issues.

    If the bottom end is good and there is interest I can pull it. I did grab the rod today and was able to move it. It had a little resistance, but probably from sitting so long. The guy pulled the remainder of the cylinder the day it happened and flushed with diesel then added oil. No promises, but i'll check it out.
    The guy thought the case was cracked, but I didn't see it, so it's anyones guess.

    It's currently not on a trailer, and I don't have an extra ATM. He is going to deliver it one evening this week. Supposed to rain tomorrow, so it probably won't happen will Tuesday or Wed.

    Fuel pump will fit any DI ski. Nothing has been pulled.

    I wouldnt care if the crank is good or not. I generally dont use used cranks. I always start my motors with a freshly rebuilt crank. A good set of cases is always a good thing to have around.

    Yeah thats a dilemma I have right now for when I start building the MSX engine. Get a crank built or use the SBT crank I have in the other motor.

    Your not the only one to ask about the motor, so I'll be sure to check it out.

    I'm tempted to cut the top half of the hull off to make it easier to pull parts.

    If it is lowball enough, I will probably take it. Maybe.

    Pull the rub rails and save them. The black virage/sltx rub rails are kind of hard to find.
