Thread: Removing restrictor

I saw a you tube vid of removing the restrictor from a '12 VXS. Proceeded by comments of people who've said it increased top end by 2-3 mph. Looks easy. Has anyone tried this? Does it apply to other models? Results? Thanks in advance.

can you access that sleeve without removing fuel rail, wiring, intake manifold, etc.???? Can you access it from below or do you have to remove it all to get to the stock ribbon?

I guess it would depend on the type of ski, but in the vid I saw, it was a 2012 VXS. The set up looks the same on my 2013 VXR. According to the vid, you remove the engine cover, the duct (pipe) coming from air filter housing to your throttle body, throttle body, and the spacer. Your restrictor (ribbon) is then exposed and can be removed. Now, I'm no expert by any stretch, but according to the vid, and the schematic, that should be everything. Hopefully a more experienced person can chime in to assist. Hope this helps.
