    2004 GTX-Supercharged

Ok guys have a question. I previously owned a 96 GTX, then a 2001 GTX 4tec limited. Loved both those skis but sold them years ago. Now I am looking to buy another ski and a local seller is selling a 2004 GTX 4-Tec supercharged for 4,800 with trailer and GPS unit. I am mostly using this for cruising around. The seller states that it has 200 hours on the motor, a brand new prop, and new ECM panel. I have heard horror stories about the super charged skis. Does this sound like a decent deal? The ski has been stored indoors and has been all professionally maintained.

Welcome, but we need location to give a better idea of value.
ECM panel? Was the ECU replaced, if so why?
Supercharger needs the spin test, remove the SC intake hose and try and turn the SC wheel with your fingers. If it turns easy, the bearing / washers are trashed………WALK AWAY! If it does not move, then lake test. Do NOT purchase without lake test. RPM's should be around 7600 and speed low 60's GPS, not on the speedo.
SC will need a full rebuild and will cost just under $400 to rebuild on the Hulk site.

Im sorry. The ski has been ridden on lake erie I am from Ohio. The ski has never been in salt water. Are there pics where I can look at the supercharger to see how to remove the hose to do the spin test? I am not very familiar with the superchargers. The owner states that the ski hits in the mid 60s on the GPS

www.nadaguides.com shows average RETAIL around $3500.

Even if the SC feels ok and the lake test is good, the SC needs to be rebuilt. Hopefully the owner did this at the 100 hour mark as required. You have some questions to ask!! Documentation as proof would be good to have also.
