    Ultra 250x Intercooler Core.

Decided to open up and clean the intercooler on a 250x that I just purchased. Anyways, looks like it has never seen the light of day... and the cooling fins on the intake exhaust side are completely #(@*$)@.!! The outlet side of the core is fine!
Looks like the high temp of the exhaust fried the fins on the intake side!
Anyone tried replacing the core alone? Or know of a replacement intercooler, as kawasaki they want $1900 for the intercooler..
    Thanks. Terry

You can see that the fins are basically gone.. in the inlet side of the cooler core although the outlet side looks good. I have a complete set of gaskets for the cooler, but dont want to waste them if its &*#* anyways.

Did the water line fall off at some point i dont see how the fins could have got hot enough or brittle to break like that

Salt water sit in it maybe?

I Cant see how it could have occured either... All lines were secured when removed....
Unless the core failed, leaked saltwater inside the intercooler case and eventually salt water ate the core itself out? Although, when hooked up to the hose does not leak inside...

I have only put on about 17hrs since purchased....
