What size aftermarket bars for GP1300R?

Will 7/8" bars work on stock GP1300R mounts?

Yes. I went with 32inch wide 7/8inch Riva bars. To get the trim side on I had to put a dowl in a drill with some sandpaper to sand the plastic on the inside of the trim to get it to turn smooth. You will also need to drill some holes for the nubs on the throttle, choke, starter and drill and tap a hole for the trim screw.

Save yourself a shit ton of money and effort and just powdercoat the OEM handlebars black and remove the OEM pad. Same thing as installing aftermarket bars. I'm removing my pro-taper and going back to OEM because the ski cover doesn't fit for shit anymore. Just buy a crossbar on eBay and whatever pad you want. I'm just stealing the crossbar/pad from my protaper bars to put back on the OEM. It will look exactly the same as the protapers but correctly fit the OEM cover. I'll take comparison pics once I get back from a work trip in 2 weeks (protaper vs. modified stock). You won't be able tell which is which.

Aftermarket grips don't fit the trim system unless you hack the crap out of it.

This is my protaper bars installed. When I switch back to OEM bars it will look exactly the same except fit my cover.

I don't jump waves or even ride salt water. I live within 30 minutes of the best area on the best jet ski river to ride in the USA. St Johns River.

It's the equivalent to having 5 "Tail of the dragon" roads down the road from your house. It's jet ski heaven.
