Arrow 2000 Polaris Virage ignition problem

This thread is gold regardless of the age!!!!!

I just bought a 2000 polaris virage TX and I'm getting voltage going into my cdi but nothing coming out.

My manual states the part number should be 4010304 and the one installed is 4010379 I'm guessing the previous owner crossed old (non gen III) parts with newer parts causing the problem (no power at the spark plug)

Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks I'm new

    Welcome

All 2000 onwards red carburetor engines came from the factory with the Gen III ignition system.

These engines absolutely require a really strong battery. See my signature links regarding the minimum required voltage while cranking. If the battery is marginal you will not have spark.

There is some diagnostics to be done. Start with bypassing the LR-505 Start/Stop module. These are known to fail, so a good place to start. Once bypassed the engine can be started but stopped only by pulling the lanyard. The Start/Stop button cannot stop the engine while the module is bypassed.

Search for LR-505 in my thread titles to find the bypass procedure. Your LR module is inside the electrical box. The 2002 and later LR modules are slightly different plugs so the bypass is slightly different.

The 4010379 may be the best 1200 box Polaris had....... Good curve.
