    2013 rxt 260 intercooler failure

Well I just took out my new used ski today for the second time, the first was a test run with bad gas I thought, well today I found the real issue, a failed intercooler. only 15 hrs on the ski, I was able to plug the water inlet into the i/c to make it home, now is the question of which i/c to buy, has anyone tried the chinese ones on ebay for 299? I cant spend 800 plus for one, so much for my tunning for now, what is brp doing with these p.o.s i/c they are putting in these machines? I thought they had a recall on the 2012 and would have thought they were putting better units in by 13?

Seems to be the norm with these later model intercoolers.. I wouldn't buy a chinese cooler, id buy something proven.. I know your on a budget but $500 extra dollars isn't a huge difference..Could cost you more in the long run..

    Good luck with it mate

which ones are proven? it seems like everyone has the ones they like, I have read ugly stuff about riva i/cs and torx, I am not sure about fizzle? the fizzle is actually not priced bad,

you will need to be creative with the cooling hoses to make the fizzle fit

I have the riva gen 3 intercooler in my 2011 rxtx and it has been great since the factory one has failed, its the best direct replacement one out there right now, you can buy it here from Jerry's online store http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1849

Riva gen III HAS a horrible failure rate also. I wouldn't buy it for that price. No way. Buy a fizzle!

I think most of the failures with the gen 3 are with salt water ski and riders not flushing the intercoolers out, salt eats everything eventually, I've had good luck with mine and can't complain about it at all

I have seen big $$$ IC fail and work well and the cheap $$$ IC fail and work well ...

I have a older Pirahana IC 7 years and still running in salt water , but salt away is a must ... Then I had one last a year ...

    I had a IC anodised and had failed ... Can't win ..

the best IC is the factory OEM that sits in the mani , I haven't had one fail yet .... Not yet ...

really after every season , they be removed cleaned and pressure checked ... Been doing it every year and worked well , but salt away a MUST ....

There is no creativity required. The water routing is the same as stock. The inlet line is extended and the pisser gets plugged with a supplied plug. As for the piping, either shorten the stock hoses and insert the supplied piping, or wait until Thursday when the full hard pipe kits are back in stock. http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=3113
