2014 Yamaha FZS WaveRunner -Date Of Purchase 10/25/2014

When i first got the ski my first purchase was the power filter kit from Riva. While riding with just that installed i was able to reach 71mph. Since than i have put a lot more money into the machine and can not seem to get it over 70mph.... I guess you can say I'm not happy. I basically have everything that the Riva stage 1 kit has except the Solas impeller, I don't want to keep dumping money into this thing for little to no gains, I even spent the money on the ride plate which i feel was a complete waste.

Listed below is exactly everything i have.

Thoughts? What am i doing wrong? What am i missing?

After installing the SCOM i didn't notice much of a difference, it just seems louder i guess.

    Performance Upgrades:

RY12040-IMUK: Intake Manifold Upgrade Kit: $39.99
Our Intake Manifold Upgrade Kit enables your SHO engine to produce more horsepower by delivering increased air flow and boost pressure (+1lb). Precision tapered billet sleeve directly replaces restrictive mesh element in intake manifold. Provides improved low end punch and mid range pull through quick & easy installation. Includes detailed installation instructions. NOTE: Our testing has determined the stock ECU will compensate for the increased boost provided by our Intake Manifold Upgrade Kit.

RY13060: Modified to Fit FZS (Cold Air Intake): $499.99
Our VXR/VXS Power Filter is a true "cold air" intake system that draws cool air from outside your engine compartment delivering significant performance gains. Utilizes OEM hood scoop to feed air into an ultra-dry water trap system for reliable operation in rough water conditions. Cold air is delivered to engine via large 4" smooth-bore ducting that is secured to throttle body with unique velocity stack and sturdy billet clamps. Kit also includes an improved breather system that keeps hot oil vapor and crankcase fumes from entering your engine's air intake. Key Features: * Delivers increased acceleration & top speed. * True "cold air" system utilizes OEM hood scoop. * Ultra-dry water trap keeps water out of system. * Genuine screen type K&N Flame Arrestor & water repellent pre-filter cover. * Large 4" smooth-bore ducting attaches to engine via flow-matched velocity stack. * Includes updated crankcase breather system for improved performance.

RY19040-EBUK: Engine Breather Upgrade Kit: $34.95
Easy to install Engine Breather Upgrade Kit eliminates power-robbing crankcase emissions from your engine's air intake. Increases horsepower by removing the engine's requirement to burn relatively non-combustible oil. In forced induction applications intercooler efficiency is improved by preventing the oil sludge coating that lowers thermal efficiency. Easy installation retains highly efficient OEM air/oil separator system. Kit includes pre-formed hose with attached K&N filter along with all necessary hardware & instructions.

RY11080-SCOM: RIVA Speed Control Override Module for Yamaha FZ SVHO Skis: $249.95
The RIVA Speed Control Override Module removes the restrictive speed control function on Yamaha FZR/FZS SVHO models delivering significant increases in top speed with stock ECU. Easy to install module delivers 3~4mph to stock craft and allows further top speed gains through aftermarket modifications. Does not affect speedometer accuracy or dash functionality.

    Key Features:
    Removes restrictive speed limiter system.
Increases top speed utilizing stock ECU.
Delivers 3~4mph with no additional modifications.
Allows further top speed gains through aftermarket modifications.
All original dash functions are retained.
Does not interfere with speedometer functionality.
    Easy plug-in installation.

    RY15050: Rear Exhaust Kit: $339.95
Our rear exhaust kit delivers performance & cutting edge style. Allows removal of restrictive sound suppression system located between waterbox and hull exit. Improves engine performance by reducing back pressure and restriction. Includes mandrel bent aluminum exhaust tube that is powdercoated to prevent corrosion, large billet through-hull exhaust outlet, OEM exhaust outlet block-off and high-temp silicon couplers along with all necessary mounting hardware & installation

    RY16041: Aluminum Waterbox: $419.95
Developed on our Dyno and tested extensively on the water, this water box features radiused exhaust tubes and end caps for optimum exhaust flow. Unique exhaust baffle will increase the low-end power and mid-range pull of your Yamaha watercraft. Delivers up to 15hp on modified engines along with significant torque gains. High-strength aluminum construction will survive backfires and meltdowns. Powder coated to prevent corrosion. A must for modified motors.

    Key Features:

    * Delivers up to 15hp on modified craft!

    * Machined hose flanges for reliable coupler retention.

    * Radiused exhaust tubes & end caps.

    * Powder coated to prevent corrosion.

    * Fits Yamaha FZR/FZS, FX-SHO, FX-HO 1.8L & VXR/VXS

RY21050: RIVA FZ Performance Ride Plate: $249.95
Our new FZ Ride Plate delivers the perfect balance of top speed and improved handling in a variety of water conditions and speeds. Its race bred design features deep channels for improved acceleration and traction in turns. Provides excellent straightline stability at high speed with reduced porposing. Utilizes stock ride plate support brackets and accepts OEM speedo sensor.
    Key Benefits Include:

Do you see them drop down after staying wot for a while? Either that or your on the limiter with those mods i think youd need to pitch your prop. What RPM's are you seeing? Also that rideplate is terrible keep your stock one.

Check out the the Yamaha 4-stoke section of the forum. A lot of your questions can likely be answered there with a little searching.

Also I am confused as to why you have in your original picutre the VXR air filter box on your FZR. Did you modifiy it or something? That front compartment is relatively sealed.... you're probably losing performance running that compared to the correct Riva powerfilter for the FZR which has the filter inside the hull right by the vent tubes.

Are you using a GPS? Check out my signature... I have stage 1 mods, somewhat similar to yours on a 2009 FZR and run 73+ all day.

If you pitch the prop it would bring the Rpm down....Jims Performance would do it for you.
