250X Pump Noise
Trying to figure out if I have a problem or not with my 07 250X, 100 hours. It's running fine, but last time out, when I fired it up on the ramp at the end of the day, the normal pump clanky noise was twice as loud as normal. While out on the water, I thought it sounded different, but figured I was imagining it. The next day in the garage, ran it for 15 seconds to clear more water out, and it was normal.
Pump was rebuilt to 2011 specs a couple seasons ago by Impros.
Should I pull the pump and have it checked, or is there any kind of test/inspection I can make?

I have an Ultra-300x and they certainly do "rattle" while running out of the water - while connected to the garden hose "running" in your driveway.
If you feel like pulling the pump to inspect it - you should add some nice quality "Marine Grade" Grease to the shaft splines during re-assembly. Mine is quiet as a "Church Mouse" at idle with a fresh smearing of marine grease to the shaft splines
Good Luck !!!

Thanks man, appreciate the info. I was just puzzled that if it's spline noise, why would it be intermittently way louder. I'll check it out and see if anything looks fishy.

Couldn't hurt just to pull the pump off and inspect. Is it running okay?
