2000 SLTH MFD testing outside of ski (12-pin MFD Deutsch connector pinout)

I have a MFD that I pulled from a running ski a couple of years back. I wanted to know its hours and functionality. I no longer have the ski.

I read in the threads I wanted to put power on pin1 and ground on pin12. I could find no markings on the MFD to indicate the pin numbers and all I could find in the thread was an 8 pin pin out.

Before I found an actual pin out I was hooking ground to pin7
I have power to the correct pins now and press mode and nothing happens. Is there anything that I am missing? Or is this MFD toast now?

    Thanks.

If you have power to the mfd and it doesnt wake up either the MFD is bad or the mode button doesnt work. Try touching the yellow wire input to the positive power connection......that should wake it up. If none of that works, the MFD is probably bad.

Arrow Polaris 12-pin MFD pinout (not for MFI or NGI, MFD only)

Make sure you are connecting the correct two pins to power and ground.

    This pinout diagram may help.

I forget get whether the 12-pin MFD were all 'fast trim' compatible or if there was a 12-pin MFD that was sold with normal speed quick trim watercraft. Fast trim was factory on the Polaris Pro models and the last couple of years of SLX.

Note that MFD were only 8-pin connectors for most model years. 12-pin MFD were only sold for a few years before the transition to new models with the much larger MFI displays.

I did not have an actual 12-pin MFD on hand so the above photo is actually from the back of an MFI. I think the index notches are the same.

Thanks for the idea. Just tried it though with no luck. I am bummed because I know it worked when I pulled it from the ski.

Thanks for this pinout. I am correctly hooked up right now. I had the ground on Pin7 (trim) yesterday before I found a connector that had the same numbering as you picture above.

If you think it is dead, I may be interested in it as a source of spare parts.

I am still holding out hope. I want to try it in someones ski. It worked just fine when I pulled it a couple of years ago.

Can you confirm the notches in the back of your 12-pin MFD connector match the connector in my photo?
