Is it possible to fix/clean a display thats "fogged/damaged" from sitting in the sun?

My ski was left outside for a considerable amountof time and the display has gotten so fadded you can't read what it says. Is there a way to clean it? One person reccomended wet sanding the display, but I've never done that and wanted to get another opinion if that was worth trying. Thanks for the advice.

You could try some 2000 wet sandpaper but depending on how bad it is, I would try one of the kits you would use for the lenses on car/vehicle headlights first. May take a little work but not as abrasive as sandpaper.
