    2004 Msx 140 value

    Just wondering what a value would be for a 2004 Msx 140 that needs a new fuel pump everything elese is in pretty good shape

    My estimate would be $2000-$3000 for a good running one with trailer, depending on condition and hours. But you should check compression too, since bad fuel pumps can quickly ruin the motor on those.

    Often the only problem with the fuel pump is that the fuel pressure regulator has fallen out. That can be repaired if you are willing to extract the fuel pump.

    Is it was diagnosed by an area Polaris dealership that it needed a new fuel pump can you tell this without removing the pump that it is the pump not the fuel pressure regulator

    If there is no fuel pressure the dealer solution is to replace the pump. The Greenhulk solution is to reinstall and reinforce the fuel pressure regulator. The only reason to replace the pump is because it will not pump fuel.

    Does the inline fuel pressure regulator (was it Kawasaki brand??) solution still work (i.e. abandon the failed regulator in the tank) for splicing that into the return line?

    There has been a lot of discussion on this. In summary, the Kawasaki inline regulator is not recommended.

    I tried it last month. Fail.
    I ended up having to pull the pump anyway in the end. Waste of $30.
