RXPX 260 smoking oil cooler????
bit of a problem and needing advice for a mates ski.
2014 RXPX, Vtec, induction, oil cooler and open loop cooling
Ski has just had fly wheel bolts snapped and while the engine was out he had the head decked to stop the head gasket blowing.
Just noticed that if you run the ski without the seat on, on tick over steam is coming out of the cooler vent at the top and as you increase rpm more and more comes out???
This never used to happen.
ski is running 8500rpm and performance is fine, but this smoke is worrying him???
Any thoughts guys??

generally, you can not see the oil cooler with just the seat removed. it is under the intake manifold on the side of the crank case and does not have a filter on it.
I believe you are talking about a catch can for the crankcase vent. the usually mounted on the top of the motor by the exhaust manifold and have a breather filter on them. It is normal to see small amounts of gases coming out of this.
