"lil rider" double trailer conversion questions

    Hello!

Converting my 2-place "lil rider" trailer to (hopefully) carry a gp1300r, spark, and a 750sxi across the tongue. Trying to figure out what the load capacity is, can't seem to find any information on these older trailers. This trailer has the axle with the axle with the high point in the center, making a pointed shape. Hoping that its a 1500# axle because my dry weight comes in at 1380.

I'm thinking if I run the stand-up across the tongue that I might have to move the axle mounts forward to lower the load on the tongue. Any thoughts here?

The previous owner said he ran two three seater kawasakis on the trailer without issues. I can only assume these are 700lb skis and I will be in the clear. (If he really ever ran them)

I've even considered replacing the axle for a more stout 2000# to be safe.

Anyone have any insight on a project like this? or any info on these older trailers?

These are the only two pics I have of the trailer at the moment.

Tongue is a 2" ball but I don't know what tongue rating offhand, or the thickness ( of the trailer? ).

That trailer looks like the frame is up to the task but I would upgrade axles and springs for sure. Should be pretty cheap to do.

Might have gone a little overboard.

extended the tongue 3.5', boxes the front in 2x3 3/16", gonna run angle iron the length of the trailer down the center so I can put the standup inline with the tongue and drive it right up the length of the ski.

    upgraded to a 3500# axle.

ID:	359164Can't rotate picture on mobile, but it fits great! Very happy with it all. Gonna have to move the axle forward because the tongue weight, but this will definitely work.

Looks good! I would get the third ski on before moving axle...

Anyone that was curious -- it works. Moved the axle forward about 13". POR15 on everything, 3500# axle and suspension welded in. Tongue weight is about 275 with the 750 where it sits. Need to weld on a bow stop for the front, but tiedowns worked for the weekend.
