Installed L13 cone, lost speed :(
So installed L13 with no spacers saturday as well as a freshly rebuilt et137+4.
running stock ecu, rpms were on avg around 8100. lower after the ski became heat soaked, and on a cool motor /IC i saw 8140 on avg.
85 deg , water temp 60, , not sure what my top speed was i didnt gps it, but i was doing around 77-78mph before rebuild and L13 with 83mm nozzle. 15/22 solas. R&D grate, running 2.5 wedge, basically every riva bolt on. afr 12.0
it just doesnt feel as strong, but seems to stay planted in choppy water a little better, but i no longer am passing the people i was the week prior.
wasnt able to add spacers on the fly as i havent grinded the siphon tubes in the venturi and they were in the way, was wondering if anyone else seemed to have similar issues with no spacers and similar mods?
No boost gauge as my digital innovate fried a sensor. going to throw a analog one on soon.
sorry if things are a little all over the place,

For best speed/performance, 15/22 is too much prop IMO.
However, you are a perfect candidate for running a larger nozzle (85-87)
The only reason why I went with a L13 cone is because I was spinning too high (9250). These motors don't come "alive" till 8800rpm.

i got a lot of BEAT hours on my ski (251 hours now) was hoping to squeeze out another mile or 2 with the L13.
this is my last year with this ski, just want it to make it through the season.
next ski i will do ecu/ valve train.
so what do you think, add the 87mm back? and use spacers to drop rpm? come summer temps i will be down probably another 160 200 rpm depending on humidity/temp. river usually is around 85 deg water temp as well.
i have a 2.5 wedge on my ski, could this be one of the reasons im running into a issue?

chris because i ride the same ski every weekend with the same people lol. last weekend i was able to walk carusso, and blow by tyler, roof, every time now that is no longer the case.
contemplating removing that 2.5 wedge as i dont have the angled pump cone base .
also L13 is with my stock 87mm venturi,
my ski was doing 77-78 with teh 83mm
like i said earlier, other than missing top speed, the only other significant change ive noticed is that the ski hooks up better, and stays connected, especially in chop. could this be due to having a 2.5 wedge with a non angled cone base?

If you have VTS you don't need a wedge IMO

previous owner had the wedge added, different strokes for different folks i guess.
