    Cool Twin Chargers?

With all the hating going on against super chargers and the push for people to start building turbo charged ski's has got me curious If anyone on this forum has attempted a twin charger set up with both a supercharger and a turbo charger?

It's a combination that has been done before in the automotive industry...the idea really is for the S/C to help with the turbo Lag in low rpms and the turbo would Provide the boost in the High RPM range.

...and just so were clear, In no way am I saying that this is practical in any sense of the word. I'm more concerned if there's any real reason why it doesnt make sense to attempt. Would this not be possible with Motec? Would a ski running this need to run a twin impeller?

turbo lag....you have never been on a toy with the proper sized turbo for the job
so do you plan on running 50psi boost?

the way the set up works on cars is that at a set rpm there is a clutch that disengages the supercharger and all boost is provided by the turbo.

It's a compound boost setup. It would probably be a cluster f**** of piping to make it work and be a pain in the ass but I'd love to see someone try lol

I remember someone doing it in Europe that posted in the built section. obviously it did not work because you never heard back from it. all the extra weight and little space in the hull makes it impractical.

I don't think 1 person's failure should be enough to consider it a complete failure. As far as practicality goes sometimes you gotta just tell it to go f*&^ itself.
