Haven't done anything to it but changed the oil and rode it. I'm guessing it takes a second for the limiter to slow it down.

I don't have anything added to it. I am guessing that it take a second for the limiter to slow it down or the GPS in the Garmin VIRB I used to record the video is off. I was thinking it may be off but it will go to 74 might even flash 75 for a nano second on near about every pull. I didn't have my other GPS with me to confirm it so next trip I will have both.

When you are listening to it at louder volumes, it is useless while riding fast? Does wind and engine noise drown it out?

Anything above 30-35 mph you can't hear it. But it is plenty loud it's just at a certain speed to wind noise drowns it out.
