Just picked up a 2012 RXPX

Hey guys i'm new to this forum as well as Skis in general. I just picked up a 2012 rxpx with some tasteful mods. I bought the ski with 30 hours, it has a RIVA steering system and bars, Riva sponsons, hydroturf seat (love it), and a riva intake setup. The prior owner stated is has a riva ecm flash but i wasnt aware that they do just an ecm flash. After riding it on the river the other day i had it up to 73mph (on gps speedo) at roughly 8350 rpm. The thing really hauls out, im wondering if it could possibly have some other type of tune or if there is a way to tell. Also the intercooler/throttle body/ an MAT was already replaced under warranty work done at RIVA with vent kit installed. I just ordered a maintenance kit and plan on doing that before i bring it out on the lake. Beyond excited about this ski even after riding it for only like 15 mins it turns like nothing I've ridden.

Welcome. And I agree we have seen this rig before. The ski looks very nice for sure.

    Some friendly advice:

    1. Read this: http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=191532
    2. Get a Shop Manual at www.brpmanuals.com
    3. Read your Owners Manual several times
    4. practice raising the Ibr gate with the Ibr Override procedure (nice to know how to do to check the pump area)

The front strap is above the roller and is very dangerous trailering it like that. If you made a sudden stop or got into an accident, the ski will be a projectile right into the back of your vehicle. The correct routing is to RAISE your winch bracket until the roller is just below the front lip of the ski and above the ski tow eyelet and route the strap with the hook UNDER the roller. Connect the large hook to the ski eyelet. This will keep the ski in place safely.

Look through the "How To" section and use the Search feature on the forum.

Yeah i was informed about the trailer we didn't have the tools to adjust the trailer on the spot so i just towed it home like that so i put an extra strap on it, and yup i posted it on the classifieds on my friends account. got him down a little more in price and couldn't pass it up. For the time being it's plenty fast so i dont plan on going any more aggressive for now so stock valve-train should be alright? how extensive is the job swapping out springs and retainers? does it require head removal? thanks for the input guys! i am very curious on what tune it actually has. Is there anyone to check the ecu to see which flash it has?

Well Heck someone ask if the ECU is Orange or not? Maybe they mean the Riva Athena.
Take a pic of the ECU under the seat. Maybe its the Riva Athena ECU.

It's sitting in my friends garage up at lake George right now, this weekend i will go up and take more pictures of the engine compartment/ECM, just waiting for my number decals an maintenance kit to come in before i ride it again.

Thank you! the spring compressor and valve train upgrade kit looks like it'll be a fairly easy DIY. I will Definitely look into doing it a little later this summer.
