    Question aligning drive coupler

I just installed 1300 lowell ported motor in my gpr, is there any tips or tricks to get drive coupler aligned properly?
I followed manual instructions and used shims on motor mount to get within spec on digital caliper. It just seems with motor running I could have it spinning eccentric and not know it?
    Thanks
    Doug

A good friend of mine gave me a tip on this and it worked great.

    Set the motor in.
Start the mount bolts but don't tighten.
Adjust as needed the top and bottom gap with shims.
Turn the motor over with the starter for a few seconds without plugs in.
    Motor aligns itself.

thanks for the tip, I will try it tonight.
I was going to get a dial indicator, maybe that would have been overkill

Good tip. I'll use that method next time. It sounds like it could save a couple hours. I am used to doing it the hard way. Tighten check, loosen reset, tighten check and so on.

    Cool Thanks
