Twin Turbo's Anyone???
Anybody have a Twin turbo Z or Supra?
I have decided to build a car and I always wanted a 300zx Twin Turbo. I have N/A 300zx now and have had it since 1995, it was my first car I ever purchased on my own.
Anyway I want one and was just wanting to chat with someone who knows anything about turbo cars. I am looking for a basic Intake, exhaust, ecu, IC's, and maybe a light wieght flywheel. I want around 450 HP and a solid running car.

Nope i see a lot of sweet import turbo cars at shows and MIR though. I'll take a Subaru WRX STi if anyone wants to get me something for christmas. Something about an all wheel drive car with a 300hp 4 banger makes this snow look fun.

I'll agree with ya on that car, but I can't pick one up for around $10000. And I like the TT Z's the most.

My buddy Nick had the turbo Supra the last year they were made.
If memory serves it ran in the 10's with about $5k invested in it.
He sold it for $50k with like 10,000 miles a few years back.

Lurk, gonna check the site out.
FAST That $50000 is exactly why I am not looking at a supra.LOL.
Way to much $$$$$ for it. I am looking at 300zx tt's in the $7,000-$10,000
Let the boost begin.

got-z is a site where we can all bs. Nothing too technicial there, but some of the guys know their shit. If you are looking at repair/upgrade specific check out twinturbo.net, but they are a bunch of assholes. I think one of the best sites is www.zcar.com

Hey hows it goin. I came on here to find a lil info about my skis, but i am an avid motorsports fan.
i drive a 95 supra turbo, i picked her up ~3 yrs ago
my advice, get a car that comes turbo from the factory, you can technically install a turbo on a car that came naturally aspirated (NA) but you will see more gains with less money invested if you start with a factory turbo base
im biased, so i would say supra, mine had intake and exhaust on the stock twin turbos and it had about 400hp at the tires. very reliable engine, a stock TT is about 300hp and for another 1200 dollars you can go "BPU" which is basic performance upgrade (exhaust, intake, boost controller) and be just over 400 at the wheels
a good book is Maximum Boost, i forget the author's name... (craig something?)
its kind of outdated but plenty of good info on building and workings of a turbo system.
just so you can see, my car is at http://members.cardomain.com/toro_34
ive gone with a single turbo and a few more upgrades and now sit around 500hp at the wheels, and its still a GREAT daily driver
dont hesitate to PM if you need more info!
oops, i didnt notice the original post dates, sorry, but ill leave my info up

My friend has twin turbo Z. Hes got the following...
2003 Track 350Z Fully loaded
APS Twin turbos. Theres 2 set ups, moderate and racing version hes got the moderate version but easily can be stepped up to racing with just swapping out turbos.
3.9 rear end (puts you in your seat like a mofo)
Defi gauges(stupid about of money but look pretty sweet)
6 puck clutch and lightweight flywheel.
So far from what everyones been saying on his forum. is that the APS turbo kits are the best for the z right now. They even beat out the greedy version.
Hes got around 445 hp Dyno'd but the kit is at its minimum right now. Hes not pushing a lot of boost at all. Hes playing it safe and having it be somewhat reliable....
