    Yes you can

I haven't done it yet, plan to this weekend. I checked and determined
that you can launch at Pennekamp, run no wake til you clear the channel
and then you are good to go. You have to observe the protected
area signs, primarily you can't anchor there. Some places you can't go
because of low water and the reef is there.

But you are supposed to be able to hook up to available buoy's like
the regular boats do and jump in! I used to do in my boat, now it's
Jetski time. Christ of the Abyss is neat, do you have a GPS? If not
look for the gaggle of boats.....

I'll let you know if I encounter any issues. Do be legal though, there is
a lot of coppers on weekends and Jetski's are probably a little more of a
target of opportunity for them than boats.

    Totally Legal to launch

I just spoke with the park and it's cool to launch Jetski's as I thought.
This weekend however they have an event and their ramps are closed
to the general public until Sun afternoon.

The cool thing about JetSki's is our speed. The reefs are 6 to 8 miles
out, when you go on Snorkel boats it can take an hour to get there.
With us...........zoom...........you're there. You can go to all of 'em
    in an afternoon.

    day trip tomorrow

I'm about 75/80 miles to Key Largo from where I'm at in Weston.
So tomorrow I'll head down, run around for maybe 4/5 hours, hang
out at some establishment and then head home.

I just stayed at Smugglers Cove in Islamorada a few weeks ago.
Real nice place, $134/night, bar, restaurant, music, safe parking and
    ramp, etc.

Most of the Keys seem to be $100+ these days. About now though
the prices go lower for off season.
