    OPAS BLOCK OFFS

When i install the OPAS Block offs is it a good idea to put a bead of silicone around where the rings fill in the holes and then anouther around the inner edge of the plate just to add a little more water tightness? thanks

I made my own block offs but i would say for peace of mind it wouldn't hurt.

think about it, haha... removing OPAS on RXP leaves 4 open holes in ur fiberglasss hull. on the RXT it's 5 holes.

with the addition of a thru-hull exhaust, that's another 2 open holes in the fiberglass...

when i was doing this work to my ski, took everything apart, cleaned up, sat back and looked at the ski and my dad comes out and says... "i think it's about time for a bilge pump!" i tend to agree, haha.... just way too many opportunities for something to leak and sink

I silicone`d the inboard block-offs bc the sealing o-rings didn`t fit the grooves properly, but I left the outboard block-off plates dry, and just tightened evenly, so far so good...But it wouldn`t hurt to run a small bead around the plates...PR...
