Thread: Rumor Mill

I asked my engine builder to check with his buddy in Dallas on dyno availability. The guy in Dallas says he has a dyno room and he knows a guy with a jetski dyno(I'm assuming its a "Land & Sea" model that gets hooked to the pump)also. He also said there were 2 jet ski builds going on envolving hayabusa motors with turbo's.Then there was the talk of how hi the busa's would rev and 450 hp.I dont know for sure but I would think that many rpms would jack with the pump.Any body hear of any yamasakis in the mix?

Unless they have a reduction drive its not going to work very well in this application.

You would just end up with a high displacement Tigershark.
I think the 4 stroke Yamaha's use a reduction drive.

A lot of top builders are very opinionated, and have themselves convinced that because of thier knowledge, thier way is the only way.I listen carfully to what they all say, then base my decision on my previous experience.I've allready had 1 arguement over using ferreas base valves as apposed to running a higher quality alloy good for an additional 500* at least for the exhaust side They were only 65.00 more for 8.Thats cheap insurance is what I say
Franko, the crew went to Bristol for the weekend to race, but I'll do some digging next week

Well my link is weak so I didnt even find out what ski it is but they say the turbo ski in the dallas area is up,but its generating so much heat you cant ride it more than 5 minutes. Its melting fiberglass and the seat,so mods are going on to water jacket the exhaust.I had planned on this for my project ski to hold the heat down. They say the unknown brand ski is producing 360hp at the crank,is unbelievably fast, but cant be ridden more than 5 minutes at a time, because of the heat.More updates as they become known.

I only get to hear one side of the conversation when my builders talking to Dallas, but heres all I know.Found out they plan on producing a kit for the Kawasaki. My assumption is the kit is for the Ultra 250.The kit will use a garrett turbo, and a motec ecu.The test mule dyno'd 367 HP but the heat is melting the ski. They are working on a water cooling system for the exhaust manifold.I dont want to piss any body off for leaking too much info,so please dont ask because this is all I know.I will pass what info I can as it becomes available. This should make a very sweet ride IMO
