? about Wrecked ski w/pics
I had a friend wreck my ski two days before a big family ski weekend. This Saturday was going to be a lake ride with the family then Sunday was going to be a saltwater ride thatís 20 minutes one way to an island to meet some friends. My question is how much water will the ski take on if the outer haul has a hole in it? I noticed that there is sprayed foam packed in-between the two hauls. After my friend had the wreck with a stump (yes he will be paying for the repairs) we rode it about 30 minutes back to the ramp. The ski had no water in the engine compartment at all, but some water did come out of the cracked haul. Is my weekend screwed or will I be safe in riding the ski. Itís a 2005 Yamaha HO. See the attached pictures.
Don't let your friends ride your ski.

Dont ride it. You may not get any water in the hull but there is a LOT of water getting inbetween the inner and outer hull. If you ride it the way that it is it will probably make the issue worse.

You need to lean the ski on its side so that the hole is on the bottom and let all of the water drain out. I'm sure there is still a LOT of water in it and it will take a while for it all to drain out.
