Well, there's this custom carbon fiber GSXL ride plate. It's on a ski down the road from me just rotting in the bone yard. It looks rougher than it really is in the pic.

stock grate or a rare Inventioneering was best for top speed for me on my old GTX in the 63 mph range, same grate is on a GSX. who knows whats best in the 80+ mph bracket. I did a lot work to a Worx and got it so that it only slowed me down about .3 mph in slick water, you could feel it speed up when you got to some ripples.

I'd have to disagree with you...because mine only "Worx" up to 65 mph...

For your above 80 application...the stock grate is going to be your best bet. Intake grates are designed to keep the boat hooked up in the chop, pulling the hull down in the process.

I bet he bounces like a Mofo with the stock grate. You need some stick at those speeds. At 80+ the smallest ripple sends you in porpoise mode.

I would have to agree with that. I dont think a Worx is going to slow down a 80+ boat too much. And the grip it will provide just may be lifesaving
Truing the plate like Danny said is a good idea as well. That carbon fiber plate might just fall apart at those speeds...

You guys must not have seen his videos. He ran 82 and the water was almost whitecapping...he he! The boat wasn't porpoising at all. Check his thread...then let me know.

BTW...have any of you ever run this hull above 70 with a Grate? There was a guy that lived in Augusta running 69 about 7 years ago, he gave up on 70 after dumping a to of money in it. He ran a stock grate.
