I've had the best luck re-pitching a Solas to the HP the ski has. They just seem to work better.. Ive tried a lot of props to.

start with a 17/29 and go from there R or F turbo both work good up to 190 HP which is what Dr Solas told me they were designed for.

Jami, for top speed nitro has done all the legwork for us. Solas 17/29.
I think if we get the aftermarket intercooler we might be able to go 17/27 and get 6500 rpms. I hear the hard rev limit is 6600.

For ocean riding and chop, hambone gets around the bouy course a full second ahead of the solas, with a skat 17/28.

not sure if hambone is on here.. texas star racing... if you contact tell him to move over to GH from pwctoday for us.

Been here for a pretty good while now, just have been lurking in the dark.

With a stock setup we have found the better overall performance is found when you can prop your ski to run around 6300 rpm. We use the Skat Trak impellers and have had excellent results. We have tried the Solas but the Skat fit our application better.

Thanks for finally posting Hambone and welcome

Good info here for those deciding between the 2 brands of impellers.

    Please help

I have an rx with macst2 and I am getting a bit of cavitation, I am also having a problem with the little nose cone coming of the solas the whole time, after reading this thread and saw that Hambone is using a skat-track I went and got one, should I have it repitched for my application or leave it at 17/28. I hope i am not asking any secrets and would really appreciate any info.
    thanks mike
